The fourth post, or 8 Weeks Down!

Hey there, hi there, ho there!

Trust me, I *think* about posting in here way more frequently than I actually *do* post in here.  It was so much easier to blog on a regular basis when I didn't have a full-time job...

Anyway.  This is my 8th week on this program.  My official "2 month" mark will be next Tuesday.  I just got my third shipment of foodstuffs, and have already updated my order for the next shipment because, even though I have no complaints about the tastes of most of these foodstuffs, I found out a whole 'nother slew of options that sound super yummy.  And I'm all about super yummy!

On Monday of this week, I officially hit 25 pounds gone since 7/18/2018.  If you think I was thrilled, you'd be pretty close to correct.  According to the interwebs, 25 pounds is the size of an average toddler.  I've lost an entire small, young human.  I've lost a small dog, or a large cat.  25 pounds is a milestone, and also just ever-so-slightly over the 10% mark for me (as in, percentage of starting weight gone).  Pretty impressive, right?  But I'm actually not as ecstatic as I maybe should be.

For one thing, and I know this is something I need to work on, but not many people have said that they notice a difference.  My dear, sweet, beloved hubby tells me all the time, and I have surely seen some remarkable changes myself (I can't wait to go boot shopping this year, because I am pretty sure I won't need the extra-wide calf sizes anymore!!).  I know I'm doing this for me, for my health, not for vanity's sake; but COME ON!  A little feedback would be nice.

For another thing, a few summers ago, I lost about 25 pounds.  I went from around 225 to around 200, never did make it back to "ONEderland", but it was so close.  All I did that summer was work out every day and eat mostly fruit.  I was working overnights at the time, so it was easy to skip meals, and it was summer so easy to eat quick, refreshing foods, and the gym was at the hospital where I worked (and, like, two miles from home) so super easy to work out every day.  So, I've done this before, and it feels like not as impressive the second time around.

And for one more thing, I still have a long way to go.  I'd like to get down to the 140-150 range, which will bring me to a normal BMI.  But that means I have to lose 90-100 pounds from my starting weight.  So, in that light, 25 is a decent start.  But not close to where I need to be.

This morning, I weighed in at 215.2#.  Which is 26.8# lost since 7/18/18.  It's slowly beginning to feel surreal.  I can't believe I've gone from the 240's to the 2-teens!  The mid-2-teens, even!!  My BMI has gone from "Obese Class III" to low "Obese Class II" -- seriously, I'm like one BMI point away from being in "Obese Class I".

I remember when weighing in at 215 was horrifying because it was the most I'd ever weighed.  HA!  Now I'm actually GLAD to see that number, and hoping it doesn't stick around too long, because seeing smaller numbers is my new addiction.  ;)

I was just thinking, maybe it's time to get a digital scale for home. Because I'm going to be off work for three days now, and I will miss weighing in.  Hmmmmmmm.  Next week I will be off work and out camping for four days.  And I will miss weighing in.  I think I need to stop and get a scale on the way home tonight.

One other thing I wanted to blog about real quick, before I sign off.  I've had great success with this program so far, but I have a confession to make.  I haven't been following it to the letter.

As I may have said before, this program involves eating 5 "snacks" and one meal during the day. The meal is supposed to be a certain composition of meats and veggies, and there are certain foods that are "approved" and not.  And I couldn't give you one good example of a meal "they" say is "approved", because I've just been doing my own thing.  That said, I have been keeping my meals low-carb; things like meat, cheese, eggs, some veggies, occasional fruit, and like that.  I'll have some carbs every now and then if I know it'll keep my total carb count for the day under or around 100g.  I fully intended to follow the program "to the letter" when I started, but I never got around to fully reading the "approved" food list, and obviously I'm still losing weight regardless, so....yeah.

Don't tell my coach!!

And going, and going...

Well, weighing in once or twice a week is still going well for me.  Sticking to the plan is also working well for me.  I'm not breaking ...
